The Providence Little Company of Mary Foundation had its start in 1960, when the Sisters of the Little Company of Mary opened its first hospital in Southern California. It works to provide high-quality care and compassion to everyone as well as inspires community friends and volunteers. To help fulfill its mission, the healthcare organization encourages the donation of financial gifts from people, corporations, and foundations.
In July 2017, Providence Little Company of Mary Medical Center Torrance received a $20 million gift from Priscilla Hunt and the late Donald G. Hunt. The gift went directly toward the institution’s Cardiovascular Center of Excellence campaign, which includes $35 million in new facilities and technology. Due to their contribution, the old Heritage Tower will be renamed the Donald and Priscilla Hunt Tower.
